Wiccan Good Luck Spell

When we try to accomplish or attract something new into our lives, it is of course important to put in the focus and the work. However, it can be helpful to give things a nudge in our favour. This is a good luck spell to help things along for you to achieve success.
This spell can be cast any time, but will be enhanced during a waxing or full moon.

What you need for this good luck spell:
• Frankincense
• 3 candles – orange or gold
• Pen and paper
Draw your circle and light the incense.
Place the candles in a triangle for luck, but do not light them yet.
Say the following words:

“God and Goddess, Spirits and Guides
Thank you for all that I have
I ask you now for [whatever it is you want]
Aid me as I work to achieve it
Please bring it to me when the time is right
So mote it be”

Now visualize what your life would be like if you already had this thing you wish for. Really soak yourself in the feeling of good luck, success, joy, achievement. Feel the elation in your chest, and hold on to that feeling. Meditate on it as you go deeper into yourself. There, an image or symbol will appear in your mind. As soon as you see this, whatever it may be, draw it on your piece of paper.
Now take the piece of paper and place it within the triangle of candles.
As you light each candle, say:

“Fire, ignite my dream, for the highest good.”

Sit with the lit candles and visualize good luck coming your way. Trust that the Universe will bring you what is best for you. Immerse yourself in gratitude towards life and all that the God and Goddess have already brought you.

Then take your piece of paper and bury it in the earth, as you say:

“Earth, seal my dream, for the highest good.”

Note that this Good Luck spell will bring you precisely what is best for you, however, it may come in unexpected forms. Remember to keep an open mind and an open heart and look out for opportunities and signs.

Intuition Spell – Receive Clearer Messages from the Spirits

Our intuition is the Universe’s way to communicate with us. Once we have cast a spell, the Universe will respond by sending us the people and circumstances we have asked for. So it is important that we listen to our gut feelings, always, but particularly in the days and weeks after casting a spell. If we follow our intuition, the Spirits will lead the way.

So how do we know what is intuition and what is merely our imagination? That is what this intuition spell is about. We will create a talisman which we can keep with us to receive clearer guidance.

What you need for the intuition spell:
1 small pouch (purple if you have one)
1 clear quartz crystal
1 amethyst
5 purple candles or tea lights
1 small piece of paper and a pen
Sandalwood incense

Let’s begin…
Start by placing the five candles around you in a circle. As you light the candles, invoke the Spirits and ask for protection and connection during the casting of this intuition spell.

Sit in the middle of your circle. Light the incense. Breathe deeply and relax into a meditation, with your palms open to receive the Universe’s energies. You are going into your Higher Self to receive a symbol that represents your higher wisdom. Set this intention as you visualise your mind climbing from your Third Eye out through your crown and higher up, to a place about 1 metre (3 feet) above your head. This is your 10th chakra, where you Higher Self resides.

Go into this place, feel your mind merging with this chakra. Breathe, relax, let it flow. When you are ready, say out loud or in your mind:

“For clearer sight, for clearer mind
A symbol of myself I’ll find”

Repeat this a few times, then slowly move your mind back down into your Third Eye. Once there, you will see a symbol. It can be absolutely anything. As soon as you see it, draw it on your piece of paper. This symbol, as I say, represents your higher wisdom and your Higher Self.

Place the piece of paper, together with the quartz and the amethyst, in your pouch, as you say the following words:

“Universe, Spirits, Angels and Guides
Receive my eternal gratitude for all that is
I ask for clearer guidance, as I will listen with a sharper ear
May this talisman heighten my intuition
To receive your messages more clearly
So mote it be”

Close your circle by blowing out the candles. Thank the Spirits for their presence. Keep the talisman with you, and keep it under your pillow at night.

If ever you are confused about certain messages or a specific situation, meditate with your talisman. The best way to receive clear messages is to silence our minds. Stop trying anything; simply sit with your talisman and open your heart and soul to the never-ending guidance of the Universe, and the answers will come to you.

A Simple Wishing Spell with Incense

General Invocation Spell

Invocation spells are used to call spirits. In general, they are used to call on benevolent beings ( eg. Gods, goddesses, angels, spirit guides), particularly when you need to make a request of them.  Sometimes, witches will invoke dead spirits in order to receive news and advice from loved ones.  In some cases, a malevolent spirit may be invoked and then banished, but this is not something I recommend.

The art of invocation is useful and powerful, but it is sometimes a risky area of witchcraft. The invocation of angels is normally harmless. Invoking gods or the elements is generally safe as long as you have pure intentions.

However, invoking other types of spirits, such as ghosts or mythical creatures (Elves, fairies, etc) can lead to some nasty surprises unless you know what you are doing and proceed with caution.  These spirits may feel threatened or insulted when invoked, and sometimes their intentions and moods can be incompatible with the work that you want to accomplish.

Now that we have those basics established, here is a general invocation spell.

This simple incantation can call all kinds of spirits, both good and bad, with the exception of the dead. One of its main advantages is its specificity: unlike the invocation of the dead, this incantation calls on the specific entity the Wiccan wishes to call, so there will be no “surprise visitors”. The drawback of this invocation is its low power – you will need a good mental connection with the spirit that is to be invoked for this to work.  Also note that this incantation is not designed to compel spirits – they may choose whether or not to show up.

Protection Against Harmful Spirits

If you find yourself being attacked or otherwise influenced by an otherworldly spirit or entity, you must seek protection.  This is a three-stage process to rid yourself of the unwanted beings and protect yourself.

1. Protection

If you can, acquire one or more of the following gemstones:

• §  Black Tourmaline
• §  Agate
• §  Bloodstone
• §  Emerald
• §  Labradorite
• §  Black Onyx
• §  Peridot
• §  Emerald

These are crystals that protect you from harmful spirits and psychic intrusion. Black Tourmaline may be the most effective, but any of them would work. If you can find orgonite containing one of these stones, that would be even more effective.

The next step will be to surround yourself with a shield of protective light.  This comes from within, and you can conjure it up yourself through meditation.

Begin each day with sitting down in a quiet space for five minutes, visualizing a bright bubble of light around you, reaching about an arm’s length away from your body.  Make it any color you feel comfortable with.

Repeat the following words:

 “I surround myself with a shield of protection.  I am safe within my space.”

Feel the light emanating from you, growing brighter with each deep breath.  It is strong and controlled, vibrating at a high frequency.  No evil spirit can penetrate this force field.

Finally, ask your spirit guides, guardian angels and the God and Goddess to protect you.

2. Cleansing

You will then need to cleanse the space where you sense the negative intrusion.  If it follows you around, use these methods around your body.

Burn sage, sandalwood or frankincense.  Sprinkle sea salt around the area.  Repeat the following words:

“Any energy that doesn’t serve me, please leave now.
You don’t belong here.  I am sending you home.
Thank you.”

Say these words, or variations of this nature, until you feel satisfied.

3. Communication

Follow steps 1 and 2.  If they don’t work, you must try to communicate with the spirit.  This can be dangerous, so follow the instructions carefully.

Cast a protective circle.  Sprinkle sea salt around it for extra protection.

Wear or carry your gemstones or orgonites.  Ask them to protect you.

Activate your protective light shield as per step 1.

Then you may speak to the spirit.  Say something along the lines of:

“Spirit who presently resides here.  I am protected and you cannot harm me.  I address you with the utmost respect.

I do not know your reasons for being here, but you are intruding on my/our live(s), and there is nothing for you here.  I am asking you to please leave.  Go back whence you came.  Go home, where you will be at peace.  Thank you.”

When you’re ready, close your circle.

Keep your gemstones or orgonites near you as often as you can.  Whenever you feel like there might be a negative presence, take deep breaths (which strengthens your aura), try to remain calm, visualize the light bubble around you, and ask your guides/angels to stay near and keep you safe.

A Spell to Banish an Evil Spirit

The following incantation is a general defence against demons and evil spirits. Not all demons will be defeated with this, but even when the spell is not sufficient to actually overcome the spirit, it can still hurt them enough to keep them at bay.

If spirits threaten me in this place,
Fight Water by Water and Fire by Fire,
Banish their souls into nothingness,
and remove their powers until the last trace.
Let these evil beings flee,
Through time and space.

History of Litha (MidSummer)

Also known as Summer Solstice, Litha, Alban Hefin, Sun Blessing, Gathering Day, Feill-Sheathain, Whit Sunday, Whitsuntide, Vestalia, Thing-tide, St. John's Day

In addition to the four great festivals of the Pagan Celtic year, there are four lesser holidays as well: the two solstices, and the two equinoxes. In folklore, these are referred to as the four 'quarter-days' of the year, and modern Witches call them the four 'Lesser Sabbats', or the four 'Low Holidays'. The Summer Solstice is one of them.

Litha is usually celebrated on June 21st, but varies somewhat from the 20th to the 23rd, dependant upon the Earth's rotation around the Sun. According to the old folklore calendar, Summer begins on Beltane (May 1st) and ends on Lughnassadh (August 1st), with the Summer Solstice midway between the two, marking MID-Summer. This makes more logical sense than suggesting that Summer begins on the day when the Sun's power begins to wane and the days grow shorter. The most common other names for this holiday are the Summer Solstice or Midsummer, and it celebrates the arrival of Summer, when the hours of daylight are longest. The Sun is now at the highest point before beginning its slide into darkness.

Humanity has been celebrating Litha and the triumph of light since ancient times. On the Wheel of the Year Litha lies directly across from Yule, the shortest day of the calendar year, that cold and dark winter turning when days begin to lengthen and humanity looks wistfully toward warmth, sunlight and growing things. Although Litha and Yule are low holidays or lesser sabats in the ancient parlance, they are celebrated with more revel and merriment than any other day on the wheel except perhaps Samhain (my own favourite). The joyous rituals of Litha celebrate the verdant Earth in high summer, abundance, fertility, and all the riches of Nature in full bloom. This is a madcap time of strong magic and empowerment, traditionally the time for handfasting or weddings and for communication with the spirits of Nature. At Litha, the veils between the worlds are thin; the portals between "the fields we know" and the worlds beyond stand open. This is an excellent time for rites of divination.

Those who celebrated Litha did so wearing garlands or crowns of flowers, and of course, their millinery always included the yellow blossoms of St. John's Wort. The Litha rites of the ancients were boisterous communal festivities with morris dancing, singing, storytelling, pageantry and feasting taking place by the village bonfire and torch lit processions through the villages after dark. People believed that the Litha fires possessed great power, and that prosperity and protection for oneself and one's clan could be earned merely by jumping over the Litha bonfire. It was also common for courting couples joined hands and jump over the embers of the Litha fire three times to ensure a long and happy marriage, financial prosperity and many children. Even the charred embers from the Litha bonfire possessed protective powers - they were charms against injury and bad wwweather in harvest time, and embers were commonly placed around fields of grain and orchards to protect the crops and ensure an abundant reaping. Other Litha customs included carrying an ember of the Litha fire home and placing it on one's hearth and decking one's home with birch, fennel, St. John's Wort, orpin, and white lilies for blessing and protection.

The Litha Sabbat is a time to celebrate both work and leisure, it is a time for children and childlike play. It is a time to celebrate the ending of the waxing year and the beginning of the waning year, in preparation for the harvest to come. Midsummer is a time to absorb the Sun's warming rays and it is another fertility Sabbat, not only for humans, but also for crops and animals. Wiccans consider the Goddess to be heavy with pregnancy from the mating at Beltane - honor is given to Her. The Sun God is celebrated as the Sun is at its peak in the sky and we celebrate His approaching fatherhood - honor is also given to Him. The faeries abound at this time and it is customary to leave offerings - such as food or herbs - for them in the evening.

Although Litha may seem at first glance to be a masculine observance and one which focuses on Lugh, the day is also dedicated to the Goddess, and Her flowers are the white blossoms of the elder.
